Has anyone used this particular lapbook booklet? My dd does not like lapbooks, but she does like formatted, preprinted sheets and I’m not sure if we would really use or need this. I haven’t purchased the science book yet, but I’m assuming the student starts building their notebooks on their own?

    Thanks!

    Sharon,

Would you post a link to this resource? I’d like to see it.

    Thank you.

The one I had a question about was at Rainbow Resources.

I found another one at Knowledge Box Central and it has a free sample for Module one, but I can’t tell if it’s the same product since there’s a bit of a difference in prices.

I will have to carefully read through both websites tonight sometime and see the difference.

    Be blessed!

I don’t know what Rainbow resource is offering but we have use the Live and Learn Press lapbbooks http://www.liveandlearnpress.com for Apologia.  Basically it is just the on your own questions in one booklet and then each study guide question on booklets of their own.  It ends up being quite a bit of cutting and pasting, plus using tons of ink. We liked the end product and I think it was more interesting to write answers on these colored booklets than on plain white paper but definitely not necessary.

If you decide on the Knowledge Box Central lapbook — I think their set is much less colored ink and more black ink. Plus it has some experiment write ups already typed, if you like.  They are having a half price sale right now to benefit some orphanages in Sierra Leone.

We used the ones from Live and Learn Press. My elementary students got really bogged down because they felt compelled to answer all the questions so that there wasn’t anything missing from their book. However, I would not have normally had them doing so much writing. We didn’t get through the book in nearly the time I at first thought. I ended up having them draw everything they could versus writing it out. Having said that, the final product is cute; just not worth the work for young ones. But that’s my very own opinion.

My highschoolers did the biology one. They have to write all the answers anyway, so that was not an issue. My husband was totally not pleased, though, with the amount of work it took him to check their notebooks. “I’m having an issue with all these little booklets, Dear!” – that sort of thing. Looking at it, I understood (just a little too late). The only other feedback I got from my girls was that it was a little juvenile, but they were good sports and continued on.

    Blessings,

    Cindy
