Now, I realize that the unit study approach goes against CM pedagogy, but… I also know that it lends itself well to aspects of a CM approach. Has anyone used it? What were your thoughts?
Hope to LearnParticipantWe used Interlock, Volume 1, and Volume 2. We did it with a CM flair. Used lots of living books for each unit (narrating some), and added in artist and composer studies. I recommend you look at the Unofficial Weaver website.

On the site is a link to join the Yahoo Weaver group. The members of this group would be able to answer your question better. We loved it and it worked well for our family.
Momma_dnaParticipantI’m so excited to have found your post. I am starting up the Weaver this fall with my two (6 and 4 years) and was hoping to be able to incorporate CM principles into our days. I’m of the mindset to add Habit Study, Hymn study, Poet study, composer study, art study, and a read aloud to our morning basket and using living books as applicable for suggested readings in Weaver. I would cycle through these studies throughout the week, maybe touching on each once to twice a week. So if we only did it once a week, it would take us a bit longer to get through. Bad thing? I would love to know how you ladies made adding in SCM studies work while doing Weaver and what your typical day and week looked like while doing so.
Momma_dnaParticipantOr maybe instead of adding enrichiment studies to our morning basket, we could do an enrichment afternoon loop?
So our day would be:
morning basket – bible reading, scripture and poetry memorization, and a hymn
weaver
play time
lunch with read aloud
individual studies (math and reading/phonics)
enrichment loop during snack time
play time….
too full of a day?
