    Hi there,

I was wanting to show my daughter the parade of countries and things like the lighting of the caldren, etc. not necessarily the “show” part of the ceremonies, but I can’t find how to watch it.  I thought since it was over it would be easy to find a pre-recorded video of it.  I have found nothing of it in its entirety and only highlights of the show part, nothing of the countries.  Anyone have any help?  Thank you!

I’m in Ohio and I’ve finally figured out how to do it if you do not have a cable provider (which is a requirement even for NBC’s online video streaming ugh!). You basically need to get an IP address through a host from another country with streaming. I used HideMyAss.com (I’m really sorry, but that is the name of the site, honest). I paid for a one month account ($10.00 ish) and then log in using that with one of the British or Canadian IP options. This IS legal, just so you know. Then you use the BBC Olympics site or the CTV Canadian site and watch live to your heart’s content. The BBC site already has the full Opening Ceremonies available too.

With the HMA account we are even able to use Apple or Android devices, so we logged my husband’s Android tablet into a London IP host and plug that in to our TV so we can watch the Olympics on the big screen.

I’ll try to put a post up detailing all this soon too. To sign up at HMA you’ll click on the PRO VPN summer ad on the right of the home page and choose the 1 month subscription. There is a spot to let them know it is NOT renewing automatically. Let me know if you can’t figure it out with those directions….

Okay, I got a post on my blog written with details of how to do this and links to the page to signup. I’m not affiliated with them at all, just thrilled we can use it to watch the Olympics. As far as I can tell using a Proxy IP is completely legal.
