Honestly, I think it is very much dependant upon the age of the child.  My teens do fabulously with the program.  My 9 year old is struggling, so I’m setting this aside for her for now.  When my now 13 yo dd was 10 or so, she did poorly, too.  It wasn’t until she turned 12 and other things clicked for her that the RS Spanish also clicked.  I’m not sure if that helps or not… just our experience.

I appreciate you all taking the time to respond!  Sonya, we have the RS Homeschool Version 3 of Spanish (Latin America).  It gave me options at the beginning, but I really can’t remember what I chose!  Is that the right version?    I will have to go back and make sure I have the settings correct.

Also, my kids are only 8yo and 7yo.  I have to remind myself of that.  They are enjoying it, also.  Yesterday I told myself.  “Okay, Jennifer.  They are fighting over who gets to do Spanish first.  That is good.  Okay, they only got 50%.  That is 50% more Spanish than they knew before!!”  In the end, I just wanted them to have the exposure to the language.  (We don’t know anyone Spanish speaking.)  I think we are getting that! So, I think it will work out if I just change my focus a little!

    Have a great day, everyone!

I’m not sure which version started giving that preference, Jennifer. As you said, check the settings to be sure.

So glad you were able to take a step back and change your focus. Sometimes that works wonders!Smile
