We have just started the Outdoor Secrets companion guide. We really like it. Will there be more of these in the works and for higher grades?
missceegeeParticipantI would love more of these as well!
Sonya ShaferModeratorWe are working on one for Jack’s Insects that will be designed for grades 4-6. Sounds like you read our minds.
tonyam196ParticipantWhen you say working on…do you have an estimated time on that? I’m planning for next year and have found a whole in science that that would fill up!
PollyParticipantI really like Outdoor Secrets Companion again today. 🙂
greenebaltsParticipantI’ve created something similiar using Among the Farmyard People by Clara Dillingham Pierson, but it would be geared for K-2nd grade. I’m currently testing it out on my 1st and 2nd grader, but plan to post it on my blog in the next couple of weeks. I’ll let you know if you’re interested. PollyParticipantPlease let me know. I’d be very interested. Thank you!
Sonya ShaferModeratorOur goal is to have it ready this spring or summer.
Lesley LetsonParticipantthis popped back into my head today and I was wondering….so I searched the forum and came here – spring or summer – hmmmm, the temps have been in the 90s lately
Doug SmithKeymasterIt’s still Spring.
Karen SmithModeratorThe companion for Jack’s Insects is in the last stages of layout and proofing before going to the printer.
Lesley LetsonParticipantwoo hoo! Thanks for satisfying my curiosity! Looking forward to it! And Doug, you got me on a technicality I guess, we do have 20 more days, but hey, I live in GA – Summer starts earlier here
Doug SmithKeymaster4myboysParticipantYay! My older ds is really enjoying the Apologia flying creatures, younger ds, not so much. I’m thinking a different approach to science is in order for younger ds. I’m looking closely at Jack’s Insects and other living books on the list for him. Thanks for all the great work!
LDIMomParticipantOh, so tempting! The sample is amazing!
How could I tie insects in with Astronomy???
