We are getting our 7 yr old his first bible for Christmas. We want to get him a NKJV; a normal adult one that is simple and not too overloaded with study helps. The problem I’m running into is that most of them indent each verse. I don’t like this. I prefer ones that encourage normal thought processes, with paragraphs. Ones where the verse numbers are “scattered” in the paragraphs. Maybe I’m just weird, but my brain works better when things are laid out correctly.

Does anyone know of one that would fit this criteria?

We bought our son his first last Christmas – it has been so neat seeing his love for the Word grow over this past year! I bought mine from cbd.com – if you narrow things down from their left column, you can choose the translation, text size, text layout, etc. I searched real quick and put in “single column” for the text layout and found this one – I think this is what you are talking about, if not, try searching on their site that way, you should be able to find one.

That’s what I was looking for! Thanks so much.

I was looking on CBD, but didn’t know to search for single column. Now maybe I can finish up my Christmas shopping!

oh good – glad that helped! I don’t know what you were planning on, but I did get my son one with a larger text size – I don’t think he would be unable to read the smaller, but I think the larger print helps him a bit. I also got a cover with it – they have some neat ones on there – here is the one we got:

it comes in larger sizes as well and has held up well for him. So much fun – the first “real” bible!!!
