Another essay guide question – comparing EpiKardia and Queens HS 2

I have recently seen Queen’s and to be honest I liked the Epi Kardia better, it seemed to be a little more suitable for a college future…just my opinion, but we have had great success with it, and it will be one of those books I keep always, because it will not date and will be useful should the girls have children. I like all of the Epi Kardia products, don’t bog us down with busy work, and get the job done in a way that is parent and student friendly. The girls like the fact that they could just get on with it, and not bother me until it was time to mark or discuss something. It is a really good course and thorough. I showed it to someone I know who is a retired English Professor and he was impressed with EpiKardia and he also checked some of the girls essays after they had written them using the course – he had very little to critique and said they were wonderfully crafted and that the course obviously worked – so that for me was good enough. Sadly he has now passed away, but his thoughts were most helpful to us.

Epi Kardia Essay is a full year course, and then after that we used their Research paper and Public Speaking courses which are a semester each. For the final two years, we had planned another research paper and lots of essays using the techniques they had learned in the essay course. That way they have extra practise on the compare/contrast and persuasive essay types along with the easier essays…I let them choose topics or we use topics from their history and literature courses.
