Have I messed up? I am following the handbook Genesis through Deuteronomy and Ancient Egypt. I have come to the second term, and it seems it focuses on History. What do you do for Bible during this time? Is that the way it is structured or am I doing something wrong?

    Thanks.

No, you haven’t messed up at all. The Genesis through Deuteronomy & Ancient Egypt lessons focus on Bible history for Terms 1 and 3 and World history (Ancient Egypt) for Term 2. Since we finished up Term 1 with Jacob’s family moving to be with Joseph in Egypt, that’s where we insert a little study of Ancient Egypt to give the children a better picture of what life and culture was like in that country where the children of Israel were living. Then in Term 3 we pick up with the narrative at the Exodus and go from there.

Does that mean that the Gen-Deut book is Bible and History combined? When I schedule it in is it Bible/History together or am I supposed to later on that day do a History lesson? I’m about to officially start all this Monday…

I believe it’s bible and history (and geography) all rolled into one, and for extra bible you can choose a verse pack from the scripture memory section – I’m just researching this myself to get started and this is what I have figured.

Yes, it is Bible, History, and Geography together. That particular handbook is set up to trace Biblical history for the first term, Ancient Egypt for the second term, and Biblical history again for the third term. The Geography kicks in during second and third terms.

Thank you. And so I schedule about 15 minutes for the Bible/History/Geography unit four times a week?

    That sounds right, yes.
