Im sure this has been asked, I searched and couldnt find it.
If you are doing the SCM modules, do you add in American History? Is there enough in the modules to not need to supplement?
Do you go quick through ancients in highschool so that you can do a full year of just american for credit? What about a semester of Government, you know check and balances and stuff (not that those are being used anymore…)
Or, you might spread several Gov’t/Economics resources out over four highschool years (or, even longer) to give it more importance and attention. There are threads that discuss this option. Sorry, I haven’t figured out how to copy/paste links to threads.
Kayla – Module 5 and 6 are the American History and World History modules. If done together in sucessive years, Sonya has designed them to be 1 credit of American History and 1 credit of World History. She also recommends that you add in 1/2 credit of government and 1/2 credit of economics. Here are some ideas in past threads:
You can combine all the Ancients in one year – Sonya thinks it might be easier to use the Beautiful Feet guide for this.
So you could do Aniencts in 9th, Module 4 Middle Ages for 10th, Module 5 Early American History and World History with a government class, and then in 12th do Module 6 with an economics course. Or do both the government and economics in 12th grade.
