If you have used Alphaphonics, may I ask your opinion? If my 5yo son is ready this fall, I plan to ease into these lessons. We already do low-pressure copywork and I’m thinking ahead. Does it make sense to have him use the letters and words from the lesson we’re working on for his copywork?

    Thanks!

Yes, I do this in the beginning and then move to short sentences that use words he can read while working on different ways to connect letters. I teach cursive from the beginning, that’s why I mention letter connection.

The handwriting program I use really encourages this…  it is supposed to really help for both reading and for writing.

That said, both my kids so far have learned to read quite a bit before they are anywhere near being able to work much on writing…..
