Adding Notes to the CM Organizer

I just started my 30 day trial with the CM Organizer.  I have watched the tutorials but still have a question about adding notes to specific entries.  For example, one of the books on my one daughter’s reading list is “Five Children and It” by Nesbit.  The chapters are quite long in this particular book, so I would like to make a note for her to read a half chapter per reading.  Is there any way for this note to follow the book for the duration of time that she will be reading it?  Or, will i have to enter this note each time?  I like to have my girls do their independent work independently, and; therefore, such notes would be quite helpful on a substantial number of readings which could get quite laborious if I have to do them each and every time on the daily schedule.  I kept looking for a note option on the scheduler page, but could not find one.

Does anyone know if this is possible?

    Thanks,

    Sarah

That’s a great idea, Sarah. And it’s on our future features wish list. Currently you can add notes only to today’s chapter assignment. We want a way to be able to add notes to any chapter or lesson when you’re scheduling it.

What I have done is, if I know I want my daughter to halve all the chapters in a particular book, I just tell her so at the beginning or stick a post-it note on the cover to remind her.

What about doing a custom study method(I think that is what it is) that you call “Read 1/2 a chapter independently”.  That would show up every time it gave the assignment.  Then just click ‘worked on’ after the first half is completed and ‘finished’ after the second half.

It’s a bit more work, but you could also add your own custom version of the resource and number the units 1a, 1b, 2a, 2b, etc.

Thanks!  I love how the team responds so efficiently to questions here.  I’m sure this won’t be my first.  Thanks for the ideas to work around this.  It would be nice to have more flexibility with posting notes, but I’m sure I’ll find a way to work around it.Smile
