I am looking at this game and have considered it multiple times, even placed it in my cart, and then never purchased it.  I like DR, I like the idea of the game, but I just can’t bring myself to buy something I am not *certain* our family will play.  (I have determined that we will not be purchasing anything for Christmas that does not meet the, “Will I ever regret/ wish I hadn’t purchased this,” test.  More on that in another post.) Does anyone have this game?  Do they enjoy it?  Does it accomplish what it was created to do – impress upon the players to live within their means?

I did see those reviews… kinda wanted a review from someone that I “know”, ya know?  I also forgot to add that I’m wondering if older kids would find it cheesy or too young for them and then decide they didn’t want to play it – ever.

my kids already loved Kiosaki’s game (Cash Flow Jr.) when we got Dave Ramsey’s “Act Your Wage”. My boys are 6 and 8 and LOVE this game, and my 20 year old has learned a lot about staying within your means with a paycheck and budgeting from it as  well! We play this game with a friend whose daughter is 15 as well (the 6, 8 year old, 2 adults and the 15 year old). Everyone learns from it. We are homeschoolers and to me this should be required learning for everyone! Note: for now we play Act Your Wage instead of Cash Flow Jr, as Ramsey’s game teaches what to do to stay in your budget and get out of debt (or stay out of debt), which is necessary BEFORE you should consider investing. Once my kids get really good at this game, we will return to Cash Flow Jr, which teaches how to make passive income from investments.

We have the game and my daughters like to play, even though we have taught financial management throughout the school years, the game has impressed on them even more that it is a good thing to do…my daughters are now adults, but still found the game worth the money and it is another fun way to reinforce what we were already teaching and modeling – I think it is worth it and all ages can learn from it.

This game and many other Dave Ramsey items are reduced prices on Homeschool Buyer’s Coop including Jr. items until 8-30-13.

Has anyone used the Jr. items and have a recommendation on what to buy? I am thinking of buying the game and the 6 books – don’t know if they are “living”.
