Writing with Jane (Essay Writing Mini Course)Instructor:  Renee Metcalf

Need a kickstart in writing before a new school year begins?  This 7 week mini-class uses the Jane Austen novels as a focal point in writing literary analysis essays.  Students learn the essentials for writing basic 4-5 paragraph essays that are organized, eloquent, and convincing.

Although she won’t be giving a grade, I would definitely have it contribute to a grade towards high school work and part of a final grade in English or Comp.  It’d probably be best if the student already has foundational essay writing skills.
