• Session 1—Enjoying the Early Years & Teaching Your Child to Read (9:30–11:30 A.M.)

  Give your preschool and kindergarten-age child what is most important. Instead of academic or social pressures, Charlotte Mason encouraged parents to give their little ones a full six years of developing good habits, getting acquainted with nature, exploring with the five senses, growing in their spiritual lives, and more.

  Plus, discover Charlotte Mason’s truly gentle approach to teaching reading. This simple plan will carry your child from learning the alphabet to building words to feeling at home in the fascinating world of books.

• Session 2—Learning with Living Books (1:00–2:00 P.M.)

  Good living books feed our children a feast of ideas, not just dry facts. Join Sonya for a look at this simple, yet effective, approach to true education. Learn what makes living books “living,” and practice using them in a way that makes learning stick.

• Session 3—Language Arts the CM Way (2:15–3:15 P.M.)

  Teaching language arts doesn’t have to be complicated, confusing, or frustrating—but many students and teachers would use these exact words to describe the process. Charlotte Mason taught all the skills necessary with just a few power-packed methods that help simplify and clarify the daunting subject of “language arts.” Discover what exactly is included in language arts and how to teach it in a way that is simple and enjoyable, while remaining effective—the Charlotte Mason way.

• Session 4—When More Is Less: A Call to Simplicity in Your Schedule, Your Home, and Your Children’s Education (3:30–4:30 P.M.)

  It’s easy to get caught up in the mentality that we’ve got to add more: we must do more, we must get more, and our children must study more. More, more, more! But the funny thing is that when we keep adding more, we usually end up with less of what really matters. Come discover the richness that simplicity can bring to your schedule, your home, and your children’s education.

• Session 5—A Charlotte Mason-Style Morning of Studies (9:30 A.M.–12:00 P.M.)

  Experience a morning of Charlotte Mason studies and see what this style of education actually looks like in practice.

• Session 6—Follow up to A CM-Style Morning of Studies (1:30–2:30 P.M.)

  Compare Charlotte Mason to other homeschooling styles and explore some key principles that were evident throughout the morning of studies—ideas that can make a big difference in your own home school!

• Session 7—Reaching Your Child’s Heart (2:45–3:45 P.M.)

  A mommy-to-mommy challenge about priorities in your home school. Sonya shares six ways to reach your child’s heart—taken from Elizabeth’s example in Luke 1—and three obstacles that can keep us from reaching the heart.

• Session 8—Navigating the High School Years (4:00–5:00 P.M.)

  Teaching high school the Charlotte Mason way isn’t that difficult! Discover what stays the same, what changes, and how to manage grades and calculate credits for a transcript. Lots of helpful guidelines, practical tips, and encouraging ideas to help you confidently homeschool through high school.
