I just logged in to start checking off today’s completed work. What an AWESOME surprise!
Question for you Suzukimom….if you were going to postpone some subjects/resources from now until next fall, how would you “clean up” the schedule/overview? Would you somehow remove them from the scheduler? Will that remove the records?
We have a few things we want to put off until fall to focus more on other studies. I thought it might be easier to have them not show up than to always have to close them.
Probably the easiest, if you are going to use them again fairly soon, would be to change them to be on Saturday or Sunday…. handy if just doing it for a short period…
If you are putting it off until Fall, you can go into the scheduler portion and click on “remove”. It will remove it from the schedule but it will NOT delete a resource (if you added it) and it will NOT delete the records of the things you completed. The con on this one is you might totally forget the resource!
** Probably do this one ** Or – and I just tried this out – if you are going to use it in the fall, just go in the scheduler and click on “edit” and change the start date until a fall start date. That way you won’t see it in your daily plans etc, but you won’t forget about it in the fall either! It’ll also know what you already have completed and what days you wanted it on now (you could of course change that in the fall). Your records of completed items are still fine. I can’t see any cons at all…
We do have some more we will be doing with the weekly overview but it was so useful that we wanted to get it out there so you can start using it as it is. It will eventually allow you to filter it by student in the sidebar, like you can with the rest of your schedule. There’s a little trick to get you there now, though. If you pick a student then refresh the page in your web browser, you will gett a weekly summary just for that student.
Can non-subscribers see a sample of this new weekly overview feature?
Sure! You can sign up for a free trial and test it yourself, or we could probably post some screen shots. If you previously had a free trial that you’ve used up, just let us know and we would be happy to extend the trial so you can work with it again.
Here’s a quick screen shot of the weekly overview. Your subjects are shown on a weekly grid along with the other views. This allows you to quicly see how the subject load is spread out over the week as you are scheduling and then it provides a quick refernce for daily use.
By the way, the screen shot is just from a sample schedule we were playing with for testing. We do not recommend that particular load of subjects.
We’re also aware that the family work should be sorted to the top of the chart and we will be fixing that soon.
I did not know that the organizer was adding a weekly overview – I may have to check into that again! This makes it much more into something that I would use!
I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you for the weekly overview. This is one of the nicest features yet. What will be great is that when I change things up next term the computer will automatically change with you.
Question — I noticed that the listing is alphabetical. Can you change the order of how it’s listed? Family at the top but then by particular child – ages either up or down?
