Product Description

Give your students the beautiful music of Schumann in a co-op setting!

With these twelve 15-minute group lessons designed for grades 1–12, your students will receive an introduction to the composer Robert Schumann and his work. Over the twelve lessons, they will read a biographical sketch, narrating it orally, and be guided to listen and learn about eight piano pieces by Schumann.

Lesson plans include ideas for introducing new concepts, presenting great ideas, inviting student narration and participation, and reviewing previous lessons in a group setting.

Home Extension ideas are included to help parents grow comfortable and confident with Charlotte Mason methods in their homes, as well as encourage the children to continue learning and growing outside of class time. The Home Extensions for this course include listening to more works by Schumann; entering him into the Book of Centuries; and optionally exploring more books, audios, and videos about the composer. Older students are also assigned a longer biography to read and narrate.
