Lesson plans include ideas for introducing new concepts, presenting great ideas, inviting student narration and participation, and reviewing previous lessons in a group setting.

Home Extension ideas are included to help parents grow comfortable and confident with Charlotte Mason methods in their homes, as well as encourage the children to continue learning and growing outside of class time. The Home Extensions for this course include reading a short biographical sketch of the poet and entering him into the Book of Centuries (if not done previously in Part 1), reading additional Longfellow poems, illustrating poems, and memorizing one or more of the poems covered in this course.
