My dc are covering American History this coming year and it feels a bit funny to not have any books specifically about George Washington scheduled.

My oldest (11th) is reading John Adams and the Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin so I was thinking maybe The Real George Washington? I could always save a Washington biography for his senior year so that’s an option as well. (I do have an Albert Marrin book titled George Washington & the Founding of a Nation and another book titled George Washington and the Birth of Our Nation by Milton Meltzer. Not sure that I want to use either of these this year.)

My second oldest could possible read a simpler book like the Landmark book titled Meet George Washington since he will have a second go around in this time period before he graduates.  Any other suggestions for him (7th/8th)?

    Thanks!

Thanks, Nebby. I’m going to go over that one again. I did purchase The Real George Washington to see if seeing them together would help me decide. My ds who will be reading one of them is not a strong reader, so I know it will seem like a lot to him to have the John Adams book as well.

The John Adams is on audio from Audible. DD14 listened to it this year. It was well done. Just an idea.

Yep, I have that, too!  Thanks, Christie 🙂

I have had to get many audio books for this coming year and I am thankful for them!
