You can't cook with cheese when you're doing dishes in the bathtub!

For the last week we’ve been doing the ultimate handicraft at our house–replacing the kitchen. I’m very excited, but it’s taking longer than I hoped. We just finished doing the dishes in the tub again, and it’s really gross. The kitchen is going to be pretty though; I’ve never had a pretty kitchen.

The kids have learned to use a crowbar, take nails out of miles of wood moulding, measure and cut wallboard, hunt for studs, spackle and texture walls, paint walls, AND do dishes in the tub. In a few days they’ll learn to lay vinyl tile flooring.

I’ve never been so relieved to see Sunday come. Thank goodness for the Sabbath!

    Just thought I’d share.

I’ve done dishes in the tub during a remodel and you’re right to be mindful of what’s on those dishes! Enjoy your new kitchen.

Did you not read Chapter One: Essential Kitchen Supplies in your copy of Cooking Basics for Kitchen Remodels? It states that you need a good plunger for the tub…..just kidding!

How wonderful for you–my 1970’s kitchen and I are jealous. And what a terrific experience for your children, too. Enjoy!

I did dishes in the tub too this winter but for a different reason, the pipe was frozen on the kitchen sink.

It smelled for a while after that in the bathroom, don’t be surprised if that happens to you!

I put bleach and vinegar w/baking soda but only time seemed to help!
