I’m looking to buy a reference and have heard of these two. Anyone have any insight to offer? Thanks.

I have Writer’s Inc., but have not used it. I think there is too much on one page for me, but maybe it’s just that I haven’t given it a chance. I could look it over for you and answer any specific questions.
I found mine on PBS, btw.
I don’t know anything about Write Source 2000.

They’re written for different grade levels. I have Writer’s Express (for about 4th-5th grade), Writer’s Source (grades 6-8), and Writer’s Inc (for about 9th-12th). You can see a list of topics in each from this page, just click on the book you want to know more about: http://thewritesource.com/
