Polly, when I read your story I cried. It struck a chord with me, especially the part about feeling like a failure. Then I remembered the verse “great will be your children’s peace, for they shall all be taught by God” You can be sure that even if you have to take a break and work through stuff together one day at a time, that your Father has got his eye on you and your children and He Is Teaching. Love and Blessings and Happy Mother’s Day.
Lifting you in prayer Polly. In really dark times I’ve always told myself that “nothing lasts forever” to keep my perspective that neither the very good nor the very bad will last forever. It seems a little childish, but it’s simple and it helps me know that I won’t feel like this forever and that whatever trouble or sorrow is around me will not last forever either. Forget schooling. Just love your children and talk together and let yourselves heal as a unit. School can work itself out when everyone is feeling on more solid ground. My best to you and your children.
I am so sorry to hear of your struggles and will lift you to the Father in prayer. I just wanted to mention (hopefully this is appropriate) that if you would like to talk to someone, there is a website called NANC.org which has a list of trained biblical counselors all across the U.S. Most of them counsel people for no cost. I counsel in the Charlotte area. Our God is always faithful to His children. I pray that you will know and feel His love surrounding you.
I’m so sorry. I will keep you in my prayers. Please keep looking up to Him. He knows our sorrows and promises to comfort and strengthen us. I wanted to share a book I am rereading that may be of help to you and your children. It shows how honoring our kids and teaching them honor can restore broken relationships. It’s a wonderful resource. I pray it wlll help give you that help and hope you need right now. It’s called Say Goodbye to Whining, Complainging, and Bad Attitudes in You and Your Kids.
