Our kids watch this show and many other nature/wild animal shows and would NEVER go up to an animal on their own. My husband is the one that sits with them most of the time to watch these types of shows (I’m not quite as interested in animals) and explains all sorts of precautions to them. He is an overprotective daddy and lets them know that in some cases the humans are crazier than the animals and is flabbergasted at their stupidity. Some are truly for education and some show the ignorance of man on purpose, and that sells for sure 😉
When we camp or are at the beach, etc., we are overly cautious from watching these shows since we know what animals are capable of doing and how fragile a human body is.
PS: My husband refuses to let the boys ride elephants at carnivals, surf, be on ships…etc., and that’s with watching lots and lots of animal/survival shows. He still enjoys the shows but more in a curious/interested way. Not in a, “Oh, that’s cool, let’s go touch that wild boar.”
