So thanks to you all…LOL!…my boys are obsessed w/ this show! They watch it every evening. And is currently the only thing they watch!
Well, I figured if they like it so much I will try to take advantage of it! You can go to WildKratts.com and the kids will be able to create their own creature suit w/ either Chris or Martin. We then printed this out to glue on the front of a folder. This will be our Wild Kratts’ book. Next, they tell me a list of animals they have learned about. I went to either these websites for coloring pgs http://www.coloringspot.com and http://www.activityvillage.co.uk to print out the animals. We then went to http://www.nationalgeographic.com to see the animals’ color. They proceed to color their animal w/ coloring pencils. I gave them some writing paper and asked them to make a list of adjectives that describe the animal. I write that list on the dry erase board. I wanted them to recall what they learned from the show instead of reading about it on NG. Then if they had trouble we would look to see what else they could add. Next, I asked them to remember one thing that Chris or Martin said about that animal. It could even be something funny. And I wrote it on the dry erase board for them to copy. When they were finished we were able to read more facts about the animal on NG site! Of course, the Kratts had already mentioned these but it was nice to reivew them!
My boys so enjoyed it! They were excited to make their book, to color, and to copy! All along we are learning about fun facts about God’s creatures. I think I am going to include some Scripture that goes along w/ God’s creation! They will have to copy that too 🙂
