    Hey!

What Wii games does your family enjoy? I’d want 2 things, not neccesarily together: physical (to give my DS3 physical activity) and/or fun for the family to play together (comradery – sp?).

    Thanks!

We LOVE just dance 2, number one is not as good. I want get three, it just came out. A friend of mine lost 40 pounds playing with her kids! It’s a work out and so much fun for kids of all ages. My DS9 likes anything Sean White, or wii Fit Plus.

Wii Sports Resort is fun for our family, everyone plays except the 1 yo, so ages 2-10 plus parents. We’ve also enjoyed You’re In the Movies. You do active challenges that get videoed and cut into ‘movies’. Cute, but a bit more set up effort each time.

Wii Active Life Explorers is good for activity – it has a mat that you use and so it detects running, jumping, (patting the mat with hands for some games) as well as the remote motion on some.  I think it can have up to 8 people playing (sort-of at once) –  in a tournament mode… it tells who is up.  I think it CAN actually have 6 at a time on the mat… I know for sure it does 4 at a time on the mat.  One thing with that many people playing is we found we had to think about the order we enter the people in to play, so that the short people will be at the front of the mat and the tall people at the back.

For just plain fun, we like the Lego games…  Depending on what your family is into, there is Lego Indiana Jones, Lego Harry Potter, Lego Batman, and others…  gotta warn you – these are addictive!

I like the Mario Party game too, but my dh hates that one.

We love Wii Sports Resort, too. We have bowling tournaments, sometimes I offer to play a game with whoever finishes certain schoolwork in a certain way, and we occasionally have a Wii Wednesday, where we do some subjects, take a Wii break, do chores, take a Wii break, and so on. Oh, and I love the Frisbee Golf (because I stink at the regular golf, lol!)

KyMom…are the dance song lyrics decent?  I’d love to get some exercise with the kids in a fun way:)  Gina

mom2blessings…about the Just Dance2 Lyrics…..when we got it a year ago, we googled it on youtube and there was a video that had snippets of each song.  We like many of the songs, but some of the ones we like are “borderline” not what we should like.  The songs are like Monster Mash, Jump, Wake me up before you go, Iko Iko, Walk like an Egyptian, Sway, etc….There are 2 or 3 that we WON’T and HAVEN’T even bothered to play because they are outright sinful lyrics….but the many we do play we enjoy and have fun.  Some are duets and that is fun.  There are levels on each song rated 1-3 for “sweat” factor and diffuculty.  The ones that are a 3 on the sweat factor really do give us a workout.  When I just now googled it on youtube I put in “just dance 2 songs” and the video that has a preview of each song came up first….I would link you to it, but I”m electonically challenged.   There is a Just Dance for kids, but when we previewed the songs, we didn’t think our kids would like it.

Can a 4 year old use any of these games? I see most, if not all, of them are for older children….

Our 3yo has used the Wii Sports and Wii Active Life Explorer with her older siblings since she was 2….  although Wii sports is pretty hard for her.  Wii Active Life Explorer has many games that are too hard for her, but quite a few that she can do fairly well.

For example – Falling Bridge…. all she has to do is run on the spots as fast as she can… and she can run fast enough to win about 75% of the time on the easy level….

Nickelodean Fit is designed for fairly young kids (we don’t own it) but has characters from TV shows… a few our kids watch and some they don’t.  It was one we were considering last year to buy for Christmas (But bought Active Life Exporers instead)…

My 2 year old can do several of the games on Wii Sport Resort, and he’ll grow into the rest. (Who’s kidding, I can’t do some of the games in it either and my other children do just fine!)

My DD 7 loves to create Wii people, she could just do that for hours if I would let herLaughing. When DS and DD are together their favorite is the Just Dance for Kids and Wii Sport (Bowling and Baseball). I use it as PE lesson on days with bad weather.

@ momto2blessings , just saw your question. There is a Just Dance for Kids, depending on your children’s age that may be a good alternative. It has mainstream music like, “A-B-C”, “Rockstar” but also a lot of children songs.

Wii Sports Resort is great and the 4 year old can do many of them. My 4 year old was scared at some of the Wii Fit Plus games, but ds7 liked them. They like to play racing games with dad: Mario Cart, etc. It’s a little hard for 4 year old, but still likes to try it.
