Did you listen to Rachael Carman’s workshop from the HomeschoolSummits online convention this morning? It’s free and still available until tomorrow morning. https://homeschoolsummits.com/teaching/summit/rachael-carman/

My sister and I listened to it together and found it so helpful – it put everything into perspective in such a God-honoring way. I hope you get a chance to listen to it. I’ve been wanting to respond to your post with a few thoughts of my own and haven’t had the chance yet, but when I watched this session this morning I thought of you! God give you grace.

Oh, you’ve gotten such good advice here already!  I simply cannot add any more wisdom than has already been offered, but wanted to tell you that I prayed for you this morning and for all struggling homeschool moms and dads.

I just wanted to add that MFW Rome to Reformation is probably geared towards 5th or 6th grade looking at where it is in the family cycle. Which means there are some assignments for older kids and kids that are younger would skip some assignments or skim. You have the freedom to use the curriculum as you want. Maybe go through it in 2 years as was previously suggested or skip parts and focus on the fun stuff. I have done the chat feature on mfw website and gotten really helpful advice on teaching my kids based on their ages. That could help you also. I found that I assumed I had to teach mfw a certain way. We are enjoying it much more now.
