Hi, my oldest is going to be starting 3rd grade in a few months, my other children are under 6. We have tried different curriculums. I feel that if I do not get a better game plan she will have bad gaps with her history. I am feeling that Charlotte Mason approach is where our homeschooling needs to be. the kinder year we studied from creation to 800 bc. Then we started Heart of Dakota in 1st grade and that started history during the time period of 1565-1860. This year still using Heart Of Dakota, second grade, we are studying the time period 1500’s-1970. I am looking at how I should plan for her next years. I want her to cover the time periods as many times as we can before she is done with school. Should I start from the beginning or cover the areas we have not covered. Any advice would be appreciated 🙂
Since you have already done module 1, you could do module 2 in 3rd with a little refresher of module 1 at the beginning, module 3 in 4th, module 4 in 5th, and then combine modules 5 and 6 in 6th since she has already spent 2 years in this era.
She’d then be able to repeat them in the upper grades
I was wondering if I could ask you ladies for some more advice. I bought a a pdf file, for Joshua Through Malachi Ancient Greece but it was the older edition. What is the difference between this one and the new one? Do I still use the Visits to the Middle East or does the other edition include how to incorporate the geography? Sorry I feel like I am trying to get things planned and I am either making this harder than it needs to be or I am doing something wrong…. I am also trying to save as much money as possible and there is so many books as options. Which should I purchase for all subjects? Sorry I feel very frustrated and I am sure I am making this harder than it should be
