I just want to start by saying that I have been reading the postings on this forum since it began and I have enjoyed what all of you wonderful people share. Your joy in homeschooling and your love for your families is very evident. Although I have read your posts, this is my first time on this forum (actually on any forum!)

A quick introduction: I am a mom to 3 kids (7,6,3) and wife to a wonderful man for 12 years.

My question is this: Have any of you read “When Children Love to Learn” by Elaine Cooper? Any thoughts on it?

    Thank you!

Hi, Tanya, and welcome! Yes, I’ve read When Children Love to Learn. It has some great articles! I thought that over-all it was geared more for a classroom setting than a home school setting, but I certainly learned from it.

Tanya, I just finished a quick read-through of “When Children Love to Learn.” I got a lot more out of the essays in the beginning, which gave food for thought about why CM’s methods make such good sense in God’s world. Like Sonya says, much of the second half especially was geared to classrooms. My opinion is that it is worth a read. Nancy
