Ok so we all know it’s coming but if someone asked you what you would LOVE today for Mother’s day what would it be?
Personally – Looking around I would love for my dh to take my kids for a weekend and just let me catch up on cleaning up, organizing for next year and in my dreams finish my book shopping for next year! That would be it :0)
As a Family – I would love it if we could get to church without a hitch, everyone is well behaved in church, and if weather allowed go to the local state park and have a nice walk and picnic! Weather bad (as it is raining here all the time lately) I would love to just hang out.
Uninterrupted book shopping in multiple cities 🙂 Or paint a couple of rooms in the house (and I mean they do the work).
But, what we’ll probably do, which is what I want to do, is go somewhere together. Then I’d like to find a thriftstore/bookstore to browse without hearing, “Are you done, yet?”
ETA: I’d also like a nice portrait of my kids with my dh or just the kids, but them plan it out, shop for clothing, etc., on their own.
Just want the storm damage to our home fixed without any issues….so far not even seen the insurance adjuster and it has been two weeks? Mother’s day gifts are cancelled to pay for the deductible, but we will have family time and a nice dinner and I am not complaining. Blessed it was not worse.
Oh, I’m with the little blessing from China idea. 🙂 I was looking at Rainbow Kids tonight, at a wonderful video put together about waiting children (three of ours are in the background), and my Littlest looked over my shoulder and asked if we couldn’t “get” another child. Tonight. Smile.
Linda, sorry about your house. Was this a recent storm? We had a bad storm two nights ago, but it passed quickly thankfully!
For mothers day, I’d love to wake up to quiet coffee and reading, shopping, a massage, more coffee in the afternoon with a piece of dark chocolate dessert, then a lovely gourmet dinner date with hubby. Then come home to our sweet kids.
Maybe I’ll get one of those mentioned! 🙂 One year my hubby did send me on a getaway night. Very nice indeed!
I loved reading all of these ideas! We recently brought home a waiting child from Ethiopia, so my heart is there, too, BUT I’d LOVE a pair of orange Converse, if I’m being honest. Happy Mama’s Day ladies! God Bless you. xo
I would love for Extreme Makeover Home Edition to choose my house to demo & rebuild….oh, wait….can’t do that because, 1) it’s my dad’s house, not mine, so he’d kill me, and 2) you really shouldn’t do that to a century home, right? Okay, so how about a maid and a handyman arrive at 7 a.m., I leave the house, when I come back at 10 p.m. the entire house is clean & neat with no holes in the walls and no messed up flooring in the bathroom and the walls/ceilings are all painted (after the 46-year old wallpaper has been properly removed) and I’m both thrilled and in shock?
Seriously, I would love perfect weather (75 degrees F, partly cloudy, wind SW at 5 mph, chance of precipitation 20%), a half hour walk alone in the Metroparks, then an hour to read a book (Amish fiction….it’s Mother’s Day, so I don’t have to read school books or anything heavy!) while overlooking the Rocky River, followed by dinner out anywhere but fast food or pizza with my kids, followed by a dvd (kids’ movie of my choice) at home, during which we eat no-sugar-added ice cream with sugar-free hot fudge sauce. Maybe I’ll even splurge on bananas and whipped cream.
And there’s more…..Next, the kids all go to bed promptly at 9:30 p.m. and immediately fall asleep, I spend 30 minutes playing around on the computer (again, nothing heavy like researching websites suggested by SCM members….sorry, but again, it’s Mother’s Day!), then I snuggle up in my bed to finish a chapter of that Amish fiction I was reading.
Oh, I forgot the expensive cup of wonderfully fresh-roasted coffee with a couple of caramel flavor shots and cream….real cream….or at least half-and-half (no skim milk today!) to sip while reading the Amish fiction as I gaze upon the Rocky River.
You guys are great! I have to laugh at the – book store without anyone asking are you done yet!! That’s me in a heart beat.. My kids always say “mom hates shopping but get her in a book store and it’s a lost cause”.
Great ideas ladies. I wish I could give you each what you want. But now we’ll all just wait and see what our dh’s come up with. HMMMMMMmmmmm
Simple Home it was a huge hail storm about just about a week ago, our neighborhood took a lot of damage from the tennis ball size hail…mostly siding with big holes it in, shingles on the roof and car dings….we were fortunate no windows were broken, some people did have that…I have never seen hail like that before – it was frightening – 2-3 inch hail pounding down for about an hour – fortunately though the siren went off there was no tornado. Anyway, I wish you all a great Mother’s Day and I hope you all receive something to give you pleasure.
For Mother’s Day I would love for our savings account to miraculously have the exact amount in it that we need for the vasectomy reversal we are saving up for.
But, since that’s impossible, I’d also take a whole, uninterrupted day in my local used bookstore! There are some gems in there but I never get time to dig. 🙂
