HI, I am considering coming back to a simplier type of CM schedule. We did HOD this year due to health problems-I just couldn’t plan anything due to chronic pain. I am beginning to feel a bit better but still need a gentle schedule/planning. I have a 14 year old and 11 year old twin boys. They don’t have to work together but my 14 year old was interested middle ages. I think we should concentrate on 1800’s though to get a high school credit. Anyways, I don’t think I could use the US stories that are listed in the guide here since they look kinda young for my age of children. What do people use with older kids

We used Abraham Lincoln’s World for our spine of that time period. If you haven’t used it before, it might be a good choice for you. It would work nicely for those ages.

Thanks for the responses! Yes, the Stories of America Volume 2 and Stories of the Nations are too young for my age of children. I was looking for another spine to replace those.
“pslively” how did you schedule Abraham Lincoln’s World when you used it?

My kids read one section per day and narrated it to me. Not one whole chapter, but one section. Each chapter has clearly divided little sections. I did not schedule it as such. They just knew that every school day they had to do that.
