I have tried a few of their things, but was wanting to see more samples online if possible. Also, how do you know which books are for what age? I can’t seem to figure out the grade/age levels on some things. I also would love to hear what you all have used and what you thought about it….
I am mostly interested in the science, copywork, Bible study notebooks , God’s Plan for Growing Up series and story books.
Well, I use a lot from Queens. Maybe I should list what I don’t use, LOL! I like their Pictures in Print (cursive is supposed to be great as well), Language Lessons and their living history readers. I also have several living science books as well as A Virtuous Girl Bible Study, and some character books. I have A Living History of Our World Volume 1 to use alongside SCM Module 1 in the fall.
We are following Module 1 for Literature.
I ask Sandi questions on her Facebook group all the time. She is very, very helpful to answer questions about specific grade levels.
oh, I just saw that they are going to be at the Memphis Convention next week! Hmmm….I want to go and look through their stuff, but am not too excited about paying $35 to register.
I have the Boy and the Rose and think it’s a great book. I read it to my boys (12 to 4 yrs) once a year usually in teh summer. Its’ beautifully written. I have some of there bible studies and they are nice.
If you could go see their materials in person, I would. From my experience you either really like their stuff or you really don’t. I would be happy to answer specific questions, just send me a message on Facebook. :0)
We’ve used several things from Queens. What might help you determine the age-range, is to take a look at their Easy Packs, which are broken up by grade levels.
These are some of the products we-use/have-used from Queens:
Language Lessons (We enjoyed these for the younger years but have decided to use Total Language Plus now)
Learning History Through Literature (We began this but found it to be too much busy work for us at the time – me having to help them do lots of internet research, copying & pasting in notebook, etc.)
Copywork Books (We didn’t stick with these for several reasons – One being my boys did not understand many of the writings, since they were scattered bits & pieces. They prefer copywork out of their literature books or bible.)
Cursive in Pictures (Great art work – my 10yo absolutely loves these books)
Spelling Through Copywork (My son enjoyed this but most of the sentences are a little silly – nothing like SCM’s Spelling Wisdom which I honestly think is better)
From Boy to Man – Gods Plan for Growing Up (Excellent)
The Boy & the Rose (Excellent)
Math Copywork (We did not finish this and could have just made our own)
Nature Drawing Book/ With Sketch Pad (Beautiful and great for late elementary and up)
Young Man of Valor Series (WONDERFUL!)
Danill the Triceratops (Love it!)
Oakie, the Oak Tree (Love it!)
Also, some of those Non-Queen books that are sold & suggested on their website such as, Material World, My Nature Journal & The Story Book of Science, we have and highly recommend. Thats all I can think of right now. I agree with the others, once you have your hands it, you’ll get a feel of whether you like it or not.
