Someone gave us a jar of elderberry jelly she had made, but my kids are unsure if they’ll like it. I’ve never tried it, so I’m not much help in the matter….
So, can anyone tell me what elderberry jelly tastes like? Thanks!

Okay, the kids tried it (looking as though they could drop over at any second, lol) and they loved it! My youngest has had blackberry jam recently and said it was similar but sweeter. Yay! (Especially since we were given two jars of the stuff.)

I’ve never had the jam but I made elderberry syrup to use for when colds come around. The syrup is really sweet. I’m going to give some to my husband next time I make pancakes….sweets for his pancakes AND it is good for him!

I was thinking it was similar to blackberry, but I couldn’t remember if what I had was elderberry jelly. If so, it is common in GA where we had it at Callaway Gardens several years ago. Glad your kids love it!

I think it kind of tastes like elderberries, only sweeter. Sorry, I couldn’t resist.
