I am wandering what I can use instead of the Oxford books for module one? I can’t find any under 50.00 thats including the Childrens as well. Is this a book that is worth spending 50.00 on? My library does not have it. I am needing to start module 1 soon, and this book is holding me up! Any suggestions on what I should/could do until something is worked out with this book?
Sonya,
Are you planning on keeping the book in module one, even if you can’t republish it? What would you suggest we do pay the 50-75.00 because its so worth it or subsitute?
Here are some books that cover the time period in Module 1. They won’t likely be at you library, but some are online and can be put on an e-reader or are available reasonably from Amazon.
Right now we’re just crossing one bridge at a time. First bridge: see if there’s any way to get it back into print.
It’s a wonderful book with minimal mythology, which I appreciate, but I feel a bit awkward telling anyone how much they can or cannot afford to pay for one.
Thank you so much for helping us on this! You are greatly appreciated! I am going to continue on my quest for finding this book! I still have lots of used bookstores to check out!
Heather,
Thanks so much for the links I will check into them for sure!!
We ended up getting The Story of the Ancient World and have really enjoyed it. The writing style is wonderful and my boys are fascinated by it. That being said I think we missed out on seeing some of the pictures of Egypt clothing, homes stuff like that that is in Oxford book. I supplemented with some other books I got from the library for ideas on how these things looked.
