A buddy of mine and I team teach. We use the same curriculum for age groups and switch houses on Tuesday and Thursdays. We are both new users and I would like to enter our books on my account and schedule my kids and, then, then go into her account and schedule her kids as well without necessetating re-entry of resources.
There is an option to “share” but it looks as though it will be operational in a future upgrade. Two questions: 1) Is there any way for us to share those resources now, and 2) which books are accepted as “sharable”?
Not all of our subjects are strictly Charlotte Mason living books. We use Unit Study books, Math Mammoth, and Draw Squad. Will these be included in the shared resource if I check the box and enter all of the information?
The sharing feature is the current big CM Organizer project that we’re working on now. When that feature is finished then any resource you check the share box on will be publicly available for anyone to use.
1) Is there any way for us to share those resources now
No, the checkbox is only in preparation for the sharing feature so everyone can begin to mark resources they want to share when the feature is turned on.
2) which books are accepted as “sharable”?
Any resource you mark as sharable will be available to the whole community. We will not be filtering what books everyone chooses to share.
Now, before someone becomes concerned about that, we have a series of things in place to help the community be self-policing.
For example, we already have a way for anyone to report a resource that is inappropriate. We’re really not too concerned about that, though. You must be logged into an account to share a resource and shared resources are labeled with who shared it. If there is a problem we will be alerted and can do something about it.
We also expect that everyone will begin to learn who in our community shares the kinds of things that line up with what they like. Let’s say you enter a bunch of unit study materials, for example. Those who are looking for such things will begin to recognize your name as someone who provides that. Those who are pure CM will do the same but know you as someone whose resources they probably don’t care to use. No big deal.
Anyone logged into the CM Organizer can also leave reviews on any resource. These reviews are meaningful because they are specific to our community and not from somewhere like Amazon or the larger public. The reviews feature has been available from the beginning of the Organizer.
