What age for HA Guerber's books

    I am looking at HA Guerber’s books, Story of the Thirteen colonies and Story of the Great Republic as a spine for next year.  The Organizer says it’s for ages 4th-12th grade.  My daugther is 2nd grade and I would read it aloud to her.  Is this book okay to read aloud to a 2nd grader?

    Personally, I tried using it with an 8 and 9 yr, old last year and it had so much info. it was a struggle for them to follow. So I think the 4-6 is accurate and will probably be too much.

    For her age, I recommend American History Stories Vol, 1-3. Just scroll down.
