What age do you start copywork?

    My 6yo Kindergartner copies her phonics words, usually around 4-6 per lesson (3 lessons per week).  I write them in her “dictionary” in highlighter, then she writes over it in pencil.

    I usually start with copying short sentences in 1st grade.

    Once they learn how to write all their letters (capital and lower case) we transition to copying a word at a time, and then we progress to short sentences.
