    Hi Everyone:
I am intrigued by NOTGRASS and after having met the authors at the GHC< I really got a feel for who they are and what they were trying to do for homeschoolers. Charlene is a sweet heart and thought of every detail with maps, timelines, literature! There is a separate hardcover book that has speeches, addresses, poems American documents ect (looked at American history). It seems to me that while yes, it is a textbook she has a heart for CM and then with the above things added in, seems like a beautiful package.

It is a beautiful set of hard covered texts. It has all been re-done and updated in 2014.

For high school there is credit given for history, english and Bible. (3 credits!)

I’m wondering who has looked into it and what you guys thought. I think I made a heart connection with the author!

I have looked into it and actually used the program and we love it! I must tell you that most people think it’s rather light for 3 credits. I’d just like to warn you that in that English credit there is no grammar or writing instruction only prompts to use and literature to read. The same with the Bible, you just read and discuss the scriptures that are scheduled. Some people just use the history portion and add other things for writing and Bible. If you have any specific questions, I will answer to the best of my ability.

It is one I’ve looked at but not used. I like the look of it for a child who would rather not have a ton of different books to read over the year. My current high schooler loves reading so she wasn’t interested. I can see my next child considering it when he’s in high school. I know they do include literature lists, but he would cut that down to the minimum.

Have you downloaded the samples and read through them to see how they read? That may also help you.

It’s a resource recommended by SCM for a government course. https://simplycharlottemason.com/planning/curriculum-guide/modern-times-epistles-revelation/ “Note: We recommend that grades 10–12 students add an American Government course either during this Modern Times study or spread over two years, during Early Modern and Modern Times studies. One possibility might be Exploring Government from Notgrass Publishing, taken at a slower pace.”

We used Streams of Civilization Volume 2 for World History a couple of years ago. It was used as a spine with living books in a co-op setting. No complaints!
