    How often does each subject in K-1 need to be taught? In my state there are no requirements. My son is 5.5 yrs and interested in everything for a few seconds, but I dont want to overwhelm him and get burnt out.

    Generally 10-15 minutes for each subject. I do 15 minutes for reading/phonics, then 5 to 10 minutes for math. The key is consistency, not long lessons. Keep it light and fun, no pressure for you or child at this age.
