    HELP…………

We have always used Internet Explorer for our browser.  Recently, I “upgraded” to version 9 and then was unable to post on the SCM forum.  I then switched to Google Chrome, which is quicker.  However, it doesn’t have a few of the features I was accustomed to.  Albeit, I was adjusting until I tried to print shipping labels through PayPal and found Chrome doesn’t allow this.  I have done some research and was able to download something called FireFox so I could print the labels.  But I am so totally frustrated…I should never have upgraded in the first place.  To be honest, I am somewhat technologically challenged.  I’m not sure which browser I should be using.  Does anyone have experience in this area?  What are your recommendations?  I want to access our e-mail, post on various forums, utilize E-bay/PayPal, print shipping labels, download vintage books, search the web, etc. safely and effectiviely.  What browser to you all use?  Thanks so much, Melissa

I use Firefox and prefer it over Explorer.

I use Firefox.  We use the organizer, print at Paypal/Paperbackswap, use email, post on forums, download books, etc.  I occasionally have a problem.  I can’t really tell you how I solve them.  I have a 17yob and I call him, and he fixes it.  Laughing  I highly recommend begging, borrowing or stealing a techie teen if you don’t have one.  LOL They like food, I’ve found.  Identify one at church, make some brownies, call him over, have him set everything up, and then tell him when there’s a problem, you’ll have more brownies.

Melissa, I was just remembering that the same thing happened to me a while back – I was using Internet Explorer 7 and upgraded to 8, then had all kinds of trouble.  I remember just uninstalling it – maybe from Control Panel, Add & Remove Programs?   We still have IE7 which my husband uses; I have switched to Firefox though because I like it better.

Anyways, my point is that you should be able to go back to the version that you were used to.

Edit – Found a link for information on how to remove it:   http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/how-do-i-install-or-uninstall-internet-explorer-9

You don’t have to bother removing Internet Explorer. In fact, you can have more than one browser and switch between them if needed.

I usually recommend Google Chrome but Firefox is also a good choice and works with the shipping labels. This is actually a problem with PayPal and their lack of support for modern browsers. I’ve had the same problem for years with another browser and they don’t see too eager to fix it.

Sorry, I should have been more clear.  I didn’t mean remove IE entirely, just remove the “upgrade” so it would revert back to the way you had it before.

I didn’t mean to be confusing.
