I really like the looks of this series, and am trying to figure out how to add it to our schedule. I am using CMs geography with my kids this year and had purchased Long’s geography to use next year. But now I’m tempted to use this instead or in addition to it… I have planned for us to cover both Egypt and Greece next year (using the first half of story of the world 1 as our spine). Would it work to condense both the visits to Africa and middle east into 18 weeks each? If my kids come away with a general overview of the continent, but don’t have it all memorized because of the quick pace, I’m OK with that. They’re young, we can hit it again the next time through. Or should I choose just one, probably the middle east, and just figure we can do the other one next time we do ancients? It seems a pity to not at least do Egypt. If I was to do both, then adding Long’s on top of that would be too much? Maybe we could read through Long’s over the summer.

Depending on your children’s ages, I would probably just pick one Visit to… book to add to what you are already doing. The Africa one has the child learning something like 58 different countries and in the Middle East one it is only 23 countries. There are also some lessons with the books Material World and Hungry Planet that you could skip if you don’t already have those books.
