I was wondering if there was a way to schedule my own “program” in the organizer. For example, I would like to create a French program where my daughter reads a living book one day, listens to an audiobook another, does a computer activity another… I will adapt the program through the year as I see what she needs to work on (This is our first year homeschooling, so I am getting a feel for her level as we go). Can I just have “Foreign Language” and edit the “resource” as I go along? I tried that, but it doesn’t seem to update in the daily schedule or reports when I edit the resource.
Yes, you could do that. To update your schedule after you edit the resource, you’ll need to go back to the Scheduler and click edit schedule next to that resource. When you do that, you should see a message asking if you want to use the latest revision to the resource. Confirm that and the edits will be loaded in. You’ll want to double-check that your divisions are all selected to be scheduled after the new version is loaded in.
I think I follow that…. further question, is it possible to use a resource (living book maybe) and read and narrate one day; next session, read and make a notebook page, or other activity? In other words, using the same resource, but doing different study methods each day?
Would you have to just go in each day and change the study method?
Right now there isn’t a way to set a different study method for each division without either editing the schedule each time you need to change the method, or scheduling each chapter individually. If you schedule each chapter or section of chapters individually, the CM Organizer will group them together on your reports since they are all the same resource.
We know that it would be useful to set a study method for each division. That idea is on our wish list of features we may build in the future.
