Is it still too soon to ask whether Book 3 will be available in the Fall? I’m going to try so hard not to purchase my plan B curriculum ideas, but here we are about to start Conference Season – where I will be standing in front of countless vendor booths and (what will feel like) a million options for English and Language Arts. I would definitely hold off on other purchases if I knew that Book 3 was aiming to be ready by Fall, or even by end of 2016?
Please, dear SCM friends, is there any way to give a little hint? Blessings, and with warmest thanks for all you do! Angie
Angie, I really wish I knew. At this point there are 7 to 9 projects in queue ahead of that one, but I have no idea how quickly they will go or what life events might happen along the way. My preference is that it will be ready for fall, but I don’t know whether that will happen. I’m sorry I can’t give you a definite answer. 🙁
Hi, Keri. I still don’t have a release date, but I can safely say it won’t be this fall. Sorry, I know you’re waiting on it. One of the other projects mushroomed into significant “scope creep” and will be requiring all of my attention for several months.
Using Language Well, Book 3 is still being worked on. It is in the proofreading stage, so we are getting closer to its release. We don’t have a release date yet, but are still hoping to have it available for purchase later this year.
My son is halfway through SW book 3. Will he be able to pick up ULW 3 halfway through? Any idea when ULW 4 will be available? Will the student need to have completed ULW 3 before using ULW 4? Thanks for the update on this.
It would be pretty difficult for a student to pick up ULW3 halfway through. I think I would recommend starting at the beginning for the best experience.
No idea when ULW4 will be available yet. When it comes out, the student who does it won’t necessarily need to have completed ULW3, but he would need to know how to analyze a sentence and what some of the key terms mean; e.g., dependent clause, restrictive dependent clause, appositive, participle, etc. ULW3 also gives an introduction to analyzing poetry and ULW 4 will continue that instruction, so an idea of key poetry terms (e.g., foot, meter, stanza, rhyme scheme) would be helpful too.
