I am wondering what the best way to handle this situation is in the Organizer. Say I have 3 books – A, B, and C. We are going to be reading book A all the way through, chapter by chapter, which should take about 4 weeks. Book B we will use all year, but more in chunks, e.g. – chapters 1-3 while reading book A, but then not continue reading at chapter 4 until later in the year while using book C. If I put book B in the schedule as normal, then it will keep coming up to read chapter 4 long before I am ready. I don’t want to read chapter 4 until we start book C.
Is the best way to do this to schedule book B twice – the first time only using chapters 1-3 and “Use With Book A”, then schedule it again for chapters 4-6 (for instance) as put that as “Use With Book C”? Or is there a better way?
My Schedule list is getting really long with 2 boys, family scheduled books, and all of the books and resources that I have entered so far. I guess this is normal? To have a long list in the Schedule tab?
Well, one thing I sometimes decide is that it won’t kill my kids not to have all the books perfectly coordinated. So sometimes I just skip it. We just read the books. If we aren’t completely “there” with another book yet, it doesn’t matter.
For times when that is just not going to work, I often skip entering the books as “books” and instead title a “course” whatever I want. Then, instead of chapter divisions, I simply list what I want read at the same time. For instance, one week’s assignment might read “Chapter 4 book ___________, pages 231-250 book ____________”
Yes, I have a very long list in the schedule tab. I’ve got three children, plus our family work, plus long leisure reading lists for each child.

I understand that is often the case. However, I this is specifically in regards to my science books because we are studying physics using my own materials (not a curriculum). I want to make sure that we read all of the resources about motion together, all of the electricity together, space together, etc. I think that because of the subject matter, it would be best to keep the resources “on-topic” as much as possible.
Thanks for the alternative idea of how to enter the resources. I will give that a try and compare to the idea of separately scheduling different parts of the book.

Thank goodness for the filters provided on the left side of the schedule screen! Otherwise, it would be difficult to keep it all straight in my mind!
