ULW vs Rod & Staff English

Hi, I need some input on these two language arts programs. I’m currently using ULW book 1. I know it is meant to be a gentle introduction, but it doesn’t seem like the concepts are taught in any specific order (meaning it doesn’t seem like they are building upon each other). Maybe they are, but my brain is having trouble with it not being real concrete, my daughter too. I love the CM philosophy, and I follow CM with other subjects, but am just having a hard time with this one! Lol.  We’re on about lesson 40. Maybe someone else who is further along in it can put my mind at ease? It just feels like my daughter doesn’t seem to be retaining much because the lessons are only intended to be twice a week and it seems to jump around with what is being taught.

So, I’ve been looking at R&S English 3 and considering switching, but keeping Spelling Wisdom. I know some CMers use R&S, and if I go with it, I’ll probably keep it mostly oral.

Any input? Should I stick it out?
