I know this might seem like a silly question, but can someone tell me what it means by composition sharpening?

Does that just mean only to continue to keep an eye on grammar and punctuation? Or does that mean start to introduce and show your student literary skills/terms?

Any help would be great. Thanks!

I’m interested to hear more details about this book too!

My goal is to have the lessons in Books 4 & 5 focus on things like writing a strong introduction and conclusion; how to structure a strong expositional piece, descriptive piece, and persuasive piece; word choice and word arrangement; more studies in synonyms and subtle differences in meaning; more about verb tense and using consistent verb tense; using parallel construction; literary devices; outlining; placement of modifiers; who v. whom; plus reinforcing usage, grammar, and analysis studied in Books 1–3.   Those are the types of ideas I have in mind. Feel free to add more suggestions.

Oh, and more poetry analysis (which is begun in Book 3).
