    We went with the Mavis Beacon disk that was on the curriculum list. However, I only got the disk and it keeps referring to transcription lessons. Or tells us to go to the owner manuel. For those that have used this, what am I missing here?

    I haven’t heard of that. We have Version 15 and it doesn’t have any of that.

    OK, this shows you how old our program is . . . we have Version 9! 🙂 It has transcription lessons in the User’s Guide. At a point in the software, it will tell the student to type in one of the transcription exercises. She is supposed to find that exercise in the User’s Guide and type the passage while looking at the page rather than at her fingers. The software then gives her the usual feedback of WPM, errors, etc.

    I did a little looking around, and according to these support people, you might have a .pdf of the user’s guide on your CD for version 15.

    It also looks like you can download a copy of the user’s guide for version 16.
