Thanks, SeekingHISHeart. I think I’ve been seeing the picture book version, too. I’m off to Amazon to see if I can discover which edition I need to request….if I can get it from the library!

We are reading Squanto, Friend To The Pilgrams and The Thanksgiving Story here. Last Friday I did a co-op class with our base homeschool group reading and discussing George Washington’s Thanksgiving Proclomation. A very interesting read.

Yay! Just put it on my Kindle.
Now….I looked for it instant streaming on Netflix and we don’t get it. However, I thought I’d look for it at the video store but it looks like there are a couple of different covers for the movie. They all seem to feature Jacqueline Bissett. Are all of these the same movie just updated?

I don’t think I’ve seen this one mentioned, but we are loving “stories of the pilgrims” by Margaret pumphrey. It’s been a great read aloud for our seven year old. I think it will be one we buy and read several years.

We just finished read Eating the Plates by Lucille Penner.

All my children (ages 8 to 15) really enjoyed the book. It was about the Pilgrims coming to America and how they survived and what it was like to start life in a new country. I’d definitely recommend it if your library has a copy – we all learned a lot from this little gem.

Sue, I really like Thanksgiving, A Time to Remember! It is great for just about all ages but really little ones. The entire book would be great for upper elem. or middle school and older while only the larger font for younger elementary. For older students who have the attention span you could read it aloud in one sitting, but I have not tried that, so I am not sure how long it would take.

@missceegee, Thanks for the link. I’m going to download it to my PC. (Sniff, sniff–I don’t have a Kindle, but my daughter does….and she keeps it at her dad’s!)
@ everyone else, thanks for your suggestions. I ought to be able to settle on something we’ll all enjoy for the next few days….then it’s on to Christmas readings! BTW, I found a copy of Tabitha’s Travels by Arnold Ytreeide at a used book fair for less than a dollar! I’m looking forward to that as a read aloud for December.
