In a way, but I think that is about putting the assignments on the weekly overview. I would just like it to say, instead of “History” the resource name, like “Story of the Greeks” or “Augustus Caesar’s World”. I’m sure what the other thread discusses would be helpful, but it would be tricky to implement. This way I can print the weekly overview and know if we are doing Spanish or Latin (or both) that day. I guess custom subjects could do the same thing, but this would involve less decision making for me, which is always a good thing.
For example, this is my eldest son’s day:
Beginner Reading
Foreign Language
Geography
History
Leisure Reading
Math
Music
Science
I’d prefer it to be:
Dancing Bears
Henle Latin 1
Visual Latin
Greek Huppogrammon
Home Geography for the Primary Grades
Map Drawing
Story of the Greeks
Ben Hur
Augustus Caesar’s World
Rabbit Hill
MEP Year 7A
Mrs Stewart’s Piano
Archimedes and the Door to Science
It would probably be necessary to shorten some titles, but I would still know which books I needed. He also ended up with most of his history readings on the same days this term, so on the overview today looks deceptively short, when, in fact, “history” includes three separate books.
