I know of a few good naturalists, Burgess, Buckley, Pierson, but i’m trying to find authors who have written turtle stories. know of any?

I did try the baldwin project but only C.D.Pierson comes up witha real story and not just a mention of a turtle.

     thanks!

Minn of the Mississippi by Holling C. Holling is a wonderful book.

The Holling books are all great.

Sea Turtle Journey: The Story of a Loggerhead Turtle by Lorraine A. Jay and part of the Smithsonian Oceanic Collection. We just read this turtle book today and my 6 & 3 year olds enjoyed it!

Jim Arnosky has a book about a turtle.

I’m not familiar with this book, but the one I’ve read from the series is good: Box Turtle at Silver Pond Lake by Susan Korman (part of Smithsonian’s Backyard series). I’m going to ask my library to get it for me next time I go.

Here’s another for you:  Let’s Get Turtles by Millicent Selsam.  It’s a nice story about having and caring for a turtle pet.  We have many Selsam books and my kids enjoy them.  Occasionally a book will have an evolution reference that will need clarification, but this one looks clean.
