Would it work well to beef up my 6th grader’s history assignments? She loves history and has read most of the books we are doing to cover it with SCM – I am hoping that we could use the TQ commentaries with everyone, and then she could do the writing assignments and lapbooking/ notebooking on her own.
Has anyone else added TQ to SCM for Middlers? How does it work? Any problems or concerns? Thanks!!
We use TQ and SCM. What I do is sit down before the year starts and jot down corresponding TQ commentary pages and Thinkwrite qu into my SCM guide. And movie selections. I think it would work great in your situation, except I’d probably sub in some TQ book suggestions for SCM ones if she’s already read a lot of those. HTH some:) Gina
I also read TQ with our history but we didn’t do the Thinkwrite because my DS 10 is just starting written narration and spelling doesn’t come easy for him so I didn’t want to over whelm him. My DD 8 also listens but it is harder for her. DS 10 at his age though does enjoy the TQ addition to our lessons. We really enjoy the narrative of TQ just to think biblically on the history of the past. I also did like Gina and read just after we read them in our Famous Men of Middle Ages. I am just starting the Renaissance of it but hope to continue TQ for this also.
