  • Hi,

I wondered in the transition of CM why it says Geog. at Stage 3? It would seem to me that it would be better to teach it while or incorporating it at the same time  you are going through the hist. fiction lit. book as it tells of different areas. There is a good book by ?Loon? I can’t remember the title or author completely but I use to have it.

New to CM for older children.

    Thanks

Great question, Cyndi. Yes, the natural geography that comes with reading living books could easily be included in transition stage 1 — while the once-a-week map drills could wait if desired.

    Sonya,

Couldn’t we do the once a week map drill such as coloring and filling in the map as we read? Wouldn’t that be “map drill” as you go along?

    Thanks

    Cyndi

Absolutely. Feel free to do as much or as little as you want, Cyndi. The stages are only suggestions, so tweak them to fit your family.
